2023

Has shown itself to be the year of change! According to the Star-Ledger Sunday, March 13th edition New Jersey residents and every other state in the country are in for a drastic change to their healthcare if they have Medicaid…   When the pandemic hit thousand of NJ residents flocked to Medicaid the government-funded health insurance program for the poor.

Beginning in April which is less than 30 days from now every recipient must verify eligibility to remain active for coverage.  This plan is called “The Winding”  and its expected to eliminate 5.3 to 14.2 million people from the 91 million currently enrolled.

It’s sad but 293,000 NJ residents which is 13% are expected to LOSE coverage.   We can’t stress the importance of having quality healthcare.   Please open all mail you received from NJ FamilyCare and call them if you misplaced any mail they sent at 1-800-701-0710 because if you don’t your coverage could be canceled.

Human Services also created the Stay-CoveredNJ website with information translated into 21 languages.  If you are terminated in error you may request a hearing.

New Jersey will mail out redeterminations across the 12-month period from April 2023 through March 2024.
